Ready to shoot your radio? Tired of all the junk, and no cool music?

Listen to Buzzy on WRIR 97.3 every Saturday morning from 11AM to 1 PM! The show is called “Shake Some Action” after Buzzy's favorite song by the Flamin Groovies.

Buzzy was miming to the Kingston Trio records with a badminton racket when he first saw The BEATLES on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. "After that, nothing was ever the same again" he says. Buzzy set about learning to play the guitar so he could start his own band.

His first band of any real significance was ROCKIN' HORSE, which played up and down the East Coast from 1972-1982. That band also featured Bill Coon on the drums - yes the same Bill Coon (who else could it be?) who plays guitar for LOOSE GRAVEL.

He joined the band DIRTY SECRETS in 1982 and was with them until their breakup in 1989, recording one LP that was released in 1987, and another that was never released.

Since that time he has played with several other bands, including BARBIE IN BONDAGE, PSYCHO BIRDS, BACK OF A CAR, and NAT KING KONG. They put out the CD Kong of the Jangle in 2003. Buzzy's song "Good Night, Sweet Prince", a tribute to George Harrison, was included on that CD. LOOSE GRAVEL plays the song currently, along with several other band originals.

Loose Gravel asked Buzzy to join LG right before Thanksgiving 2004. It was a grand reunion for Buzzy and Bill, who literally grew up playing music together, and the new lineup immediately clicked.

Buzzy fits easily with other musicians, and listens to what they play, working his rhythm guitar in as part of the cohesive whole. The fact the LG sports the great 1-2 punch of Henry and Ray on drums and bass makes for GREAT ROCK N ROLL!

"One of the best compliments I've ever had as a musician, "Buzzy said recently, "was when a friend of mine said I was the best rhythm guitar player since Lou Reed and John Lennon". He takes rhythm guitar seriously, considering it an all but lost art.

Most people who pick up a guitar nowadays want to play Van Halen riffs. Certainly nothing is wrong with that, but Buzzy didn't aspire to becoming a guitar hero. He opted instead for the pursuit of the lost chord.

Buzzy plays great music from the 60’s and 70’s with a bit of older and newer music pitched in - awesome stuff from his personal collection (and Buzzy has more music than anybody!).
